What a wonderful treat to serve mom on her special day. It is healthful and tasty. Breakfast in bed is fast and easy to prepare if it is a fruit smoothie. It will take only a few minutes to blend a smoothie for mom

Be your mom's knight in shining armor. Help her to start her day with a special smoothie.

ingredients

a fesh pineapple, almonds, cherries, blueberries, spinach, tangerines, dates, chia seeds and mixed berries. 

One heaping cup of pineapple and 1 banana are good additions to the smoothie.

Ingredients:

  •              1    cup pineapple
  •           3/4    cup mixed berries
  •           1/2    cup blueberries
  •           1/2    cup pitted cherries
  •              1    tangerine
  •              2    small dates
  •              1    T chia seeds
  •          few    almonds
  •              1    banana (use half if you want less banana flavor)
  • 1/2 to 3/4    C  spinach
  •           1/2    C  water

Instructions for mothers day smoothie

Put all ingredients into blender container and blend them. Pour the mixture into a decorative glass. Chop a few more almonds and sprinkle on top of the smoothie. Anything that mom doesn't like can be deleted. There is a such variety of fruits in this smoothie that it would still be tasty if you left something out.

This is very satisfying and will hold mom until time for lunch. This could be a morning smoothie any day of the year, but is especially nice for a special day's treat.

Whenever I have to cut a fresh pineapple, I dread it, but I found a video which gave a different method of cutting and peeling pineapple. I tried the method, and I was amazed at how much faster and easier it was to cut and peel the pineapple. For me, there was less waste, although, I did quite a bit of unnecessary tasting.  This method was also not at all messy (well, maybe a pinch). Click this sentence to go to the video.
