I woke up today to hear the birds chirping and see the sun shining in my windows. This is going to be a great day. I feel great. I am beginning to wake up more refreshed. I am not so tired. So, I will make my smoothie and go to church. Now, on with cholesterol lowering diet 4.
Pure maple syrup is the most tasty sweetner I know. It is so good for you. I always buy grade B, but grade A is also good to use.
This smoothie contains one banana, one whole orange, one whole apple, a handful spinach, 1/2 cup frozen strawberries and1/2 cup frozen grapes (any type). I added a teaspoon and a half of maple syrup and 1 T of freshly ground flax seeds. Please add 1 T chia seeds. I ran out and so did my local health food store so this smoothie is without chia. Blend it and enjoy.
Add more of the ingredients you like, and less of ones you don't like. Just be sure to taste fruits and vegetables before you blend to make sure they are sweet enough.
Relaxing by the bookshelf with my breakfast and a good book.
Lunch is lovely steamed veggie sandwich. I have broccoli, cauliflower and carrots lightly steamed. Drain them on a paper towel for a few minutes so they don't make your sandwich soggy. Spread a little coconut oil on the bread, add some tomatoes and onions or cucumbers if you like. Put on top bread and voila, a veggie coconut sandwich. Yummy.
Tonight I took half a bag of field green salad mixture and added cucumbers, tomatoes and sweet onions. I had some baked chicken which I cut in cubes and mixed in. For dressing, we used olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It is fast and easy. The whole family enjoyed this. They had linguine and shrimp with theirs, but there was plenty of chicken in the salad for me to be satisfied.
